Dinner with Dad

     I had to post a couple of photos from the girl's night out with their Dad.  They attended a Father/ Daughter dinner here which the girls were looking forward to for several days. I bought them new dresses and curled Big Girl's hair. Being the rebel, Baby Girl wanted straight hair so I did that as well. Dad gave each girl a bouquet of flowers and escorted them to the restaurant for steak and dancing. They came back so excited and just happy to have Dad all to themselves for the night. 

    Don't worry about Little Man. He had fun with me getting take-out and taking photos with my camera. My favorite photo was the one with the duct tape on my mouth. I guess he got tired of me telling him "No Sir!" every time he did something naughty!

Mardi Gras Mambo

 It WAS too quiet around here. Hubby rides in a Mardi Gras parade in Mobile, AL and has been begging me to go for months. Finally, after he found some very reasonable plane tickets a week before the parade,  all five of us flew to Louisiana. We dropped the kids off and the two of us headed over for some much needed together time. Don't worry about the kids- their  grandparents spoiled them rotten.  After a great parade and Ball, we went back to Louisiana to celebrate Big Girl's birthday. I think we just may have begun a new tradition. I finally finished unpacking today and I'm ready for a quiet weekend.

Dog Days of February

        Friday went to the dogs. First Baby Girl had a 101 days of school party. All the kids dressed up as dalmatian puppies and I was the "top dog" in charge. Who knew that I could corral a group of 5 and 6 year olds and make it a fun morning? Then that afternoon Big Girl's class had a pet parade and the 12 year old terrier made it interesting. We avoided one near dog fight with a Bull Mastiff before the parade, but overall the dog was extremely well behaved for being amongst 20 other dogs and about 60 kids!  The rest of the weekend was blissfully uneventful and this morning has been quiet. Too quiet. 

Who needs Sea Monkeys? We've got SNOW!!!

Real, honest to goodness bon-a-fide snow.  I have been up since 5:oo am and I can't stop looking out the windows at all that sugary white powder. The girls were up and in the snow by 7:20 with Baby girl leading the charge. They made snow angels, walking trails and rolled down the little hill. By 8:00 am it was over.  Then after about an hour the neighborhood gang got together for some hot chocolate and the girls were able to use a real snow sled. Little Man was hilarious. He couldn't stop touching and eating the snow. He had a ball playing with all the kids and did not want to come in. Now I have puddles all over the porch and clothes drying out in the laundry room. Since my little Southern children have no snow boots or good mittens, I am trying to get everything dry again for a third trip out in the snow this afternoon.  The girls did want to mention that the sea monkeys will be feed for the first time today, but with all the action outside, I hope we remember to do it!

I'm a Grandma!

    Sunday afternoon I hear squeals of delight coming from upstairs and then twenty toes rushed down to the kitchen to inform me that I was now a grandmother of 1 million sea monkeys!  I looked into the tank all afternoon and, then finally at bedtime under a very strong light I saw them.  Baby girl is so proud of herself for "hatching" the babies and the girls have set up a maternity ward around the sea monkey tank were you must speak softly and not disturb the water. We get to finally feed the sea monkeys in three more days so hopefully they will be big enough for a photo. 

  Update on the slumber party. Best ever. She prank called her Dad and Grandpa at midnight, played games, watched a movie, ate pizza- she didn't even look back at hubby when she went into the house. After Big girl was dropped off, we took baby girl to get a free pizza for reading 20 books last month. This was just a quick photo of her and hubby waiting inside the "hut" while little man and I waited in the van. Overall, great weekend and hoping for a fantastic week. They are predicting snow for tomorrow so hopefully I'll have better snow pictures soon.
