POTD- Wait and see!

Okay, no photo tonight from yesterday and today. My card reader is no longer reading my cards! Next time I have to remember to turn everything off during a storm. Hopefully I'll have things fixed by tomorrow.

POTD- 27,28,29

Beware- three mommy photos. Sunday was a photo of our first born the Jack Russell. She is 11 years old and perched in one of her favorite spots to watch for any squirrel activity in the backyard. Monday- Birthday party for baby girl who is now 5 years old. Not the best picture of her and the rat, but it just evoked such a sweet memory of last night's party when I scanned through all the party photos that I wanted to choose it. The last picture is of all 3 of the kids, not quite in focus, but for the first time they are all looking at the camera!!!!!!!!! I could not believe my good fortune. It could be 365 more days before I have all three in a photo together much less looking at the camera. I promise, I'll have something on topic (horizontal/vertical) for tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

POTD-scrapbook & Map

Thanks to my wonderful in laws I was able to scrapbook this weekend with a friend and only one kid in the house. I needed it. I thought as a final word photo the map would be a cool place to showcase lots of words.

POTD-Getting Ready

This is what happens when you wait until after 8 pm to take your photo of the day.

1. Go into your garage looking for packaging with words on it so you can stick to the theme of the week.

2. Realize you only have two photos left on the photo card.

3. Snap a really lame photo of a bag full of Mardi Gras throws packed for the parade on Saturday in Alabama.

4.Tweak the photo in photoshop for 15 minutes to get something interesting to post.

5. Make my Uncle C happy, who has been checking the blog all day to see when I would update it!

Thanks for all the comments yesterday- I promise it was just a bag that should have been thrown in the trash!

POTD- That's Hot

Went with high contrast to emphasize the "hotness" of my subject and to add interest. This is just an empty bag of wood chips near the grill that my DH hadn't gotten around to throwing away. Maybe now that his trash is out for all the world to see he'll be a little neater around the house!

POTD- Birthdays & Pioneer Woman

My baby girl is now my big girl and my niece is getting her driver's license! That reminds me that I'm overdue to color the gray out of my hair. ugh.

The other photo is my pitiful attempt at a farm photo a la the Pioneer Woman. I grew up on a farm run by my grandfather, then my uncle and aunt. I have some wonderful memories there and today I took a few shots of the cattle that my uncle still owns. Unfortunately I wasn't really dressed for the farm so I just pulled out the telephoto lens again. I guess I'd better do a Macro shot tomorrow.

POTD- Victory for LSU!

YEAH! We took the girls to Tiger Stadium for a National Championship celebration! Unfortunately, they kept waiting for the "game" to start. Here are just a couple of my favorite shots from today. Gotta love having the telephoto lens.

POTD Days 17&18

Had a computer glitch a couple of days ago, so I'm posting these now. After over a year of IZZE drinks I have discovered GUS- Grown Up Soda. The Cranberry Lime is the best!
Here in Louisiana, as soon as the Christmas decorations come down the Mardi Gras decorations go up, so here is a close-up of the centerpiece on my dining room table. I wanted to get a cool shot of my reflection, but I wish I would have cleared off the table first! Thanks for looking.

POTD-Trunk

Getting very tired of the bad weather here. I shot this from inside of my house looking out the window of the kitchen (notice the glare in the bottom corner.) Hoping we have no rain tomorrow so I can take more than literally one photo a day!

POTD- in the kitchen Days 14 & 15

Trying to step out of the green box and experiment with settings. Had time for a little photo cropping on the fiesta ware, but the cupcakes need help and more natural light!

POTD- kitten

Here is big sister and her new best friend. Since Dad is allergic to cats, she can only play with them at Grandma or Nana's house.

It was time for a baby picture.

POTD- Dog Treat

Our JRT waiting patiently for her dog treat that I put in front of her. I only had about 3 minutes to shoot, so I missed the toy and all the shadows. I was just impressed that she sat still for me!

POTD- Hello, Sushi

Took the middle child for her first sushi experience. She tried everything and used her chopsticks better than I did. Love this restaurant and the decor so I couldn't help but bring the camera in for a few photos.

POTD- LSU Swag

Just went around the house picking up the LSU paraphernalia. Wow. I didn't realize we owned this much and are going back out tomorrow to buy more. I had to get my little LSU gnome in the shot- I just love him!

POTD- Smiley Man

Daughter #2 and I spent the late morning scrapbooking. Here is her "smiley man" that went in the book. Hate to disappoint the Tiger fans that there is no LSU photo today, but I prefer shooting with natural light and I haven't got my championship gear yet!

POTD- flower

Just wanted to get a shot of a flower in my flower bed before I kill them. I just don't have the talent for keeping plants healthy.

POTD- Days 4 and 5

The first two photos were taken yesterday at a scrapbooking retreat. One was in the elevator and I loved the mirrors on the wall. I should have taken several photographs in there just to play with all the angles. The other photograph from yesterday was of my friend meeting my son for the first time. I even have a Mouse hat in the background which was a lucky mistake. Last photo is of my best friend who came over to crop with me today. Every time we get together we have a blast and today was no exception!
